HI! There are a couple of things that need to be done here before the February update goes out. First, this monthly update is being posted from the shiny new and somewhat, er, rough shilofarm.com website. So – the big question is “does this work for sending out a status update.”
The other question is if people want to be on the distribution list for monthly updates. The farm has an ‘interested’ email list which has been used to seed this distribution. In theory, there is also a ‘subscribe’ button on this post page. Again, that is the theory.
The second email list is specific to those who are in the current session. So, it will start off in two weeks with the hardy pioneer types that are in the winter season – all five of you. There will be more information about the green season in the February monthly update, of course.
The picture above is our spinach. The green season spinach last year was very very good, which caused us to up our game with more plantings. The sawdust is to clog the motor of any slugs that get hungry. So far, that works.
