Winter Week 6 in the box

Winter season draws to a close

Hi –

The winter season is on week 6, which means next week is a wrap. The lettuces are in great shape; really good, which is probably what you will hear for some time. There are some very large-green Turnips; most of the members are not very excited about turnips but the rumor is that the greens are pretty delish. The two of you who get delivery will get one each unless you get back with a no thanks email pretty quick.

Other than the above, the boxes will be pretty similar to what has been your portion the last two weeks. There will probably be a Pac Choi in the distribution, as well as the lovely spinach, Parsnips, Carrots, Garlic, over-wintered beets and green onions. Chives and Parsley are still too small to give out.

Note that the Romaine style lettuce seems to be hiding some rascally Aphids down in the bottom – better wash those off unless you like Aphid flavoring.

Hopefully you have enjoyed the winter season. It is always a big gamble and adventure!
