Main Season

The main season is comprised of five four week ‘windows’ that have emerged over time based upon what gets ripe when. There are some varieties which, once they begin, persist strictly because the plant continues to fruit. An example of that would be summer squash, or cucumbers. Others persist because they are succession plantings of ‘One and Done’ types. Corn is like that; once the ears are gone, the plant is done.
